Plain summary: Kept helps your team track promises to customers and check them before they're called done. A human confirms and signs everything. Kept is provided as-is, isolates data per workspace, and stores derived facts — not your raw Slack messages.
1Agreement to these terms
By installing or using Kept (“Kept,” “the app,” “we,” “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use Kept on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use Kept.
2What Kept does
Kept is a Slack application that helps teams track commitments made to customers in Slack and check them against live delivery evidence before they are marked done. It captures commitments in the channels it is added to, tracks each through a two-step, human-approved lifecycle, and can post a sanitized closure back to the original thread only after a person signs off. Its behavior is described in more detail on our Docs and Privacy Policy pages.
3Eligibility & installation
You need a Slack workspace and the appropriate permissions to install Kept. Installation is per workspace and grants Kept the scopes shown on the Slack consent screen at install time. You are responsible for your Slack account, your workspace's use of Kept, and any third-party credentials you choose to connect (for example, Jira, GitHub, or LaunchDarkly).
4Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Kept unlawfully or to violate the rights of others;
- attempt to breach tenant isolation or access another workspace's data;
- probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
- reverse engineer the service except to the extent permitted by law; or
- use Kept to send spam, harassing, or misleading messages.
You are responsible for the commitments your team makes and for any message you approve Kept to post to a customer.
5Human oversight & AI
Kept uses AI to read commitments and route questions; the model proposes and a human decides. AI output can be inaccurate. Kept requires a human to confirm every commitment and to sign every closure, and you are responsible for reviewing before you approve. Kept is a workflow tool, not a system of record for legal, financial, medical, or compliance decisions. See our AI Disclosure.
6Third-party services
Kept operates within Slack and, if you connect them, integrates with services such as Jira, GitHub, and LaunchDarkly; it uses a third-party model provider for AI inference. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and connecting them is at your discretion. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content.
7Your data & privacy
Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In short, Kept stores only derived facts (never raw Slack message bodies), isolates data per workspace, and deletes your workspace's stored token and ledger when the app is uninstalled.
8Availability & changes
Kept is provided on an “as available” basis, and is currently offered free of charge. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above, and your continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
9Disclaimers
KEPT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that Kept will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its evidence checks or AI outputs will be accurate or complete.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of Kept. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to Kept will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for Kept in the twelve months before the claim (Kept is currently free) or USD $50.
11Termination
You may stop using Kept and uninstall it at any time; uninstalling deletes your workspace's stored token and ledger. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, or where necessary to protect the service or other users.
